Free Ebook Directories For Backlinks?
I just thought I’d let you know about this subject since I’ve heard about it and decided finally to check it out.
First off, the concept I’ve read about is that you can take your free lead-gen ebook and post it all over a bunch of free ebook directories in order to get easy one-way links pointing back at you.
Sounds great, right?
There’s even a few big-time gurus who say you should do this. But if you spend an hour looking into it, you’ll find the whole concept doesn’t even exist. Well, the concept exists, but the practice doesn’t.
Don’t believe me? Just do a search on “ebook directories” or something like that; even adding “free” won’t help you. Start clicking on the sites that come up and look around on them. It won’t be long until you find that you cannot find a single site that fits into the concept.
After a while, I found this page http://www.ebookfreeway.com/p-ebook-directory-list.html
It’s awesome.
They break down the list of sites into “good”, “conditional”, and “not worth your time”. Of the “good”, there’s only one worth your time.
Most of these sites, if they are what they say they are (sites that will list your ebook with a link back to your site), will require you to link back to them! Those are OUT. Others charge. Those are out.
At the end of that page, they say they get lots of traffic from those sites, so if you can handle some fees and having to do reciprocal linking, it might be worth a try. I won’t be trying it any time soon…..

I have the same experience. I got an idea to build some links this way and I was pretty surprised that I have found out that some people ask money when you build their website by uploading your free ebook. Pretty odd to me.

Hi just came across your site and i thank you for your article it was interesting. I am interested about doing link building for my site too. Have you used the scrapebox.com program? If so is it good? If not then what is the best program? Thank you.

Dunno, Shawna. I’d heard of them before, but never tried. They look good, but you have to be careful with things like that…I think. I just wonder how much of their services will one day leave footprints. For the short term, they look worth the try. I’ve been looking lately at the classifieds and WSO sections of the Warrior Forum for one-time services to buy. I’ve tried a few things in there. Have a look when you get a chance.
