In terms of on-page optimization, I thought I’d try out an SEO tip I heard about a while back.

I don’t know if it works, but I thought it was worth a try.

Registering a domain name for 10 years rather than 1 year.

The theory is that a spammer will register a domain for a year; a business or site that plans to be around for years to come will register a domain for many years.

So, do search engines give a little more trust rank to such sites? I need to assume that some SEO heroes have done the research and have proven that it does help.

I registered my main domain for 9 years (the registrar said that’s as long as they could do) a couple months ago.

How long does it take for Google to figure that out and bump my SERPs up?
